The secret to a heavenly milkshake is to put your favorite cookies in it and on it.

The other day, Ms. Harper called me by Walkie Talkie and committed one of several criminal acts that day that almost got her banned from watching Paw Patrol for a week.
“Wonna, Mom needs you to add four Oreo Milkshakes to today’s order, over and out.”
“There is no today’s order. I just delivered with all meals, including all baked spaghetti dinners, buffalo chicken thises-and-thats, and macaroni and cheeses, and, oh yeah, your grasshopper milkshakes with bendy straws yesterday, Skeeter-bug, Over and out.”
“So you must have forgot. I mean, forgotten. Over and out.”
“Forgotten what, over and out?”
“THE OREO MILKSHAKES.”
Somewhere in the back of my mind now, I remember a conversation with Jillian, during which I’d never seen Harper stand so still with mouth agape. I thought she’d momentarily fallen asleep with her eyes open. I had spied their Double-Stuffed Oreos and had commented (shhh, we call it up-selling) that the cool thing about Oreo Milkshakes is the white, milky part tastes like the fluffy filling in the Double-Stuffed Oreos. That’s called “ear hustling—what she was doing. Which is “kid-listening.”
Now, things were making sense. I was hip to what was going on here. Jillian must be giving the twins a bath or something, methinks …. and doesn’t know about this … at all.
So I tried to stall her, hoping she’d get caught. Jillian never leaves her alone for more than one whole second. “Oreo Milkshakes for whom? Over and out.”
“For us whom. Over and out.”
“Do you have any money? Over and out.”
“No, but—WONNA!!!! MOM DOES!!!!”
“Does what?”
And this child actually got snooty with me and hung up her little walkie-talkie.
Ten minutes later or so, I walked across the street carefully balancing two drink containers containing eight milkshakes because I looked out my window and saw several more little girls arriving at their home. A little social occasion was afoot. There were balloons— a “The Party’s Here” sign with SpongeBob on it sat outside their garage, with a big arrow pointing toward their front door for anyone lost.
Jillian answered the door, expecting the pizza guy, and got me instead.
I got that look of “Rhonda! How lovely to see you, YET AGAIN!!”
“I’m sorry,” I explained. “Harper contacted me. She said Oreo Milkshakes were needed urgently. I spied your company arriving and figured maybe this was okay with you??
“She’s ‘entertaining’ friends,'” Jillian winked at me. Which means Mommy usually gets some sleep. After they eat, I’m hoping. “Harper, did you bother Rhonda for milkshakes …The next time you place food orders with Ms. Rhonda, you ask Mommy first. Or Paw Patrol time-out.”
“Not PAW PATROL time out!!!!” Harper shrieks while all her little friends come running toward me—while I try to balance two drink carriers full of Oreo Milkshakes. Meanwhile, Paw Patrol’s sirens went techno in the background in pursuit of some criminal neighborhood cats, I’d be guessing.

Oreo Milkshakes: Where Are My Bendy Straws?
I don’t think I know one human being who doesn’t love Oreo cookies.
And there’s something magic that happens when you blend Oreos and things like milk and ice cream together… Those fluffy cream centers we love licking off the much-beloved chocolate paisley Oreos combine with that milk and vanilla ice cream to create one fluffy, frozen concoction that tastes heavenly with those chocolate cookie crunchy parts.
These Oreo Milkshakes taste just as heavenly as Oreo cookies do with a cold glass of milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

How to Make Ahead and Store?
Milkshakes with cookies in them tend to get gummy. You really need to serve these and drink them up now. There’s a possibility it might freeze well, but even the most ardent Oreo Milkshake enthusiasts are skeptical about its taste or texture when thawed.

Serving Suggestions
I like to serve Oreo Milkshakes for a variety of moods and settings, like when Harper is happy because I made all her favorites. So, let’s talk about all Harper’s favorites that I make. I’m typing as she dictates, right now: Spaghetti With Oven-Baked Meatballs, Buffalo Chicken Meatballs, Air Fryer Salmon Bites, Buffalo Mac and Cheese, and Shrimp Deviled Eggs. And Oreo Milkshakes. Over and out.
