This post brought to you by Post Great Grains Cereal. All opinions are 100% mine.
I was a bit of an awkward kid and grew up with rather low self esteem. My insecurities followed me into the adult years and lent to some poor decisions regarding relationships. Finally, when I hit my thirties things started to look up for me as I gained my independence and started to feel good about some of my professional successes.
I’m finding that as I get older I feel better and more comfortable in my own skin. Self acceptance is a beautiful thing. I’ve learned to accept who I am, faults and all and have gained so much confidence. I don’t take myself so seriously anymore which has allowed me to take more chances and risks. I think being able to laugh at yourself is so important, also recognizing that there are some positives to be found through failure.
It seems that I am not alone. Wakefield Research conducted a survey for Post Great Grains Cereal and found that a whopping 80% of women love themselves more than they did 10 years ago. Also, 86% of the women polled agreed that mistakes that led to failure were worth the learning experience.
Motherhood, bad relationships, surviving a serious illness and making an abrupt career change are all things that have helped me to gain more confidence. I am no longer afraid of change and instead embrace it.
I love learning new things. At one time I had to rely on my teenage son to put a movie in the DVD player for me, because I didn’t know how to operate it myself. Fastforward a few years and I am a rather tech savvy gal, working with some major tech companies. I feel really great about this accomplishment.
I know that my life experiences, accomplishments and failures have all made me a better person, a better Mom, a better friend, and someone with great compassion and empathy. I think that’s pretty great!

I have had a chance to try several different varieties of Post Great Grains Cereal. While they are all delicious, I’ve narrowed it down to my two favorites. Choosing just one is impossible. The NEW Digestive Blend Vanilla and Graham not only tastes great, but has me feeling great. These days I am having to eat a lot more foods that aid with digestion. In the bowl, is my other fave – Great Grains Cranberry Almond Crunch. I just love the crunchy clusters, mixed in with the almonds and cranberries. I’ve even eaten this one for dessert!
I would love to hear “What Makes You Great?”
So glad to hear you feel more confident about yourself! Mmm.. big fan of whole grains.
I have yet to try this oner. Think I would go with the Cranberry flavor!
Wow, this cereal sounds amazing. I love how positive your post is! 🙂
Cranberry almond crunch is one of my favorites too! It is a breakfast staple in our house.
Cereals are great for our health since they help build fibers in our system to fast track out metabolism. This would make you feel lighter and better to improve your self esteem.
What makes me great? I think getting through the day and feeling like I actually got something done or that I helped someone.
I project myself as confident but don’t really feel it inside. Congrats on your accomplishments!
I’m going to definitely try this out. A healthy tasty cereal.
We eat this all the time in our house. My mother has Alzheimer’s and anything that will help keep her healthier longer I am all for. She loves this cereal so we keep plenty of it stocked up for her.
I too had, well still have self esteem issues. This looks like some delicious cereal.
