If you visit this blog often, you may have heard me whine once or twice about moving away from the city and my favorite Chinese take-out. Living out in the country definitely has it’s perks, but doing without my Friday night egg rolls, pork dumplings and Lo Mein has taken some getting used to.

This slow cooker Asian pork recipe is just as good as stopping into your favorite Chinese restaurant on your way home from work. All you have to do is pop the ingredients into the slow cooker in the morning, and presto… the flavorful aroma of Chinese five-spice infused pork is ready and pull-apart delicious come dinnertime. Marinating overnight before cooking brings all that delectable flavor.

- 1 Tbsp tomato paste
- 2 Tbsp honey
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 3 tsp grated fresh ginger
- 1 1⁄2 tsp sesame oil
- 2 tsp Chinese five-spice powder
- 2 lb pork shoulder
- 1⁄4 cup chicken broth
Instructions:

Step 2: Place pork with marinade into slow cooker. Cook on low for 8 hours. Add broth to slow cooker and cook for an additional 30 minutes. Remove pork and shred with two forks.
Step 3: Serve with rice or noodles. At home Asian cooking doesn’t get any easier than this slow cooker recipe, and it’s delish!

This looks super yummy! My family doesn’t eat pork, but I’m definitely going to try this with beef, probably chicken, too.
That’s a great sounding pork dish. I’ve got two huge pork lovers in the house.
Yum that looks good. I love a good product recipe, especially in the slow cooker. The Rice looks super good too!
This sounds so delicious, I can’t wait to try it. I know the house is going to smell so yummy when this is cooking in the crockpot. We’re an out in the country family, too, so the good stuff usually has to be made at home.
That looks so yummy. Wish I had any room after a big Easter dinner.
I cant eat pork sorry. This does look good It would have to be remade for me in a beef or turkey/chicken version!
how easy!! I can save lots of cash on take out, now.
I love pork and Asian food, so it sounds like a great combination for me! I will have to try this one out!
Anything I can fix in a slow cooker and save me some time is okay by me! Thanks for sharing the recipe!
