This Spiced Orange Moscow Mule cocktail is the perfect, festive cocktail for your holiday gatherings.

The delicious holiday drink comes together easily and is made with orange juice, vodka, ginger beer and a simple syrup spiced with whole cloves and cinnamon sticks.

My sister and I have been on a bit of a Moscow Mule kick lately. It’s a classic drink that can pretty much be enjoyed year round. For this holiday season, I decided to try something a little bit different. During the colder months I drink a lot of spiced orange hot tea, so I figured why not try a Spiced Orange Moscow Mule recipe.

For the Moscow Mule ingredients and other holiday party supplies, I went to Sam’s Club. The Simply Orange® 2 pack is perfect for holiday gatherings. I use orange juice in quite a few of my mixed drinks. Simply Beverages® are deliciously simple. You can find the great-tasting 100% juices and juice drinks in the refrigerated section of your Sam’s Club.

You simply must have some nuts when setting up a bar. I was glad to see so many varieties of Member’s Mark Nuts available at Sam’s Club. I picked up some Deluxe Mixed Nuts and Cashews with Sea Salt. YUM. The salty crunch of the nuts pairs perfectly with the sweet and tangy Spiced Orange Moscow Mules.

To get the spices into the drink, I placed some whole cloves and cinnamon sticks into a simple syrup as it cooled. Typically, I don’t use a simple syrup in a Moscow Mule but this exception paid off. You don’t need much of the simple syrup and it makes the drink quite delicious.

Ingredients:

  • 2 ounces Simply Orange® Juice
  • 2 ounces vodka
  • 1 ounce spiced simple syrup (recipe below)
  • ice
  • 4 to 6 ounces ginger beer
  • orange slices and cinnamon sticks for garnish

Simple Syrup:

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 6 whole cloves
  • 4 to 5 cinnamon sticks

Instructions:

Prepare the Simple Syrup:

Step 1: In a small saucepan, combine water and sugar. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until the sugar has dissolved completely. Add cloves and cinnamon sticks. Reduce heat to low, cover the pan, and simmer for about 10 minutes until mixture has begun to thicken.

Step 2: Remove from heat, uncover, and allow syrup to cool completely for 30 to 60 minutes. Remove cinnamon sticks and cloves from syrup and discard. Syrup can be refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 1 month. Makes 1 cup syrup.

Spiced Orange Moscow Mule Cocktails:

Step 1: In a copper mug or glass, add vodka, Simply Orange® Juice, and spiced simple syrup. Add ice. Top off with ginger beer. Stir and garnish with cinnamon stick. Add orange slice, if desired, for garnish.

This Spiced Orange Moscow Mule cocktail is the perfect, festive drink for your holiday gatherings. The delicious holiday cocktail comes together easily and is made with orange juice, vodka, ginger beer and a simple syrup spiced with whole cloves and cinnamon sticks.
