Perfect for holiday entertaining, this spiked slow cooker apple cider is incredibly simple to make and will fill your house with the most delicious scents. I’m not much of a bartender but do like to have an adult beverage available for my holiday guests.

Two glasses of spiked slow cooker apple cider garnished with green apple slices and cinnamon sticks.

This spiked apple cider is the perfect drink.

When the temperatures drops, I find myself craving hot apple cider. You can make this hot cider with or without the alcohol. For large get-togethers, I like to pull out both of my slow cookers and make two versions of this apple cider – with and without the rum.

This recipe is perfect for your football weekends, Thanksgiving, holiday entertaining or just anytime you want a comforting drink. The caramel sauce gives this beverage a smooth silky finish.

Ingredients:

  • 64 ounces apple cider or apple juice
  • 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1⁄8 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 8 ounces dark rum (more if you like it strong!)

Instructions:

Step 1: Add juice, cinnamon, nutmeg, and caramel sauce to your slow cooker; whisk, cover and cook on low for 3-5 hours.

Step 2: Remove lid, add rum, stir, cover, and cook for 30 additional minutes.

Step 3: Serve with apple slices and cinnamon sticks as garnish.

This drink looks yummy! I like how easy it is to make, and I love Apple Cider. I never thought about putting it in the Slow Cooker, but this is such a good idea to have this drink over the Holidays.

This is something special, and I’ve never had anything in a slow cooker for 35 hours before, but once I did boil down cider until it was a syrup and soo good. I’d love to try this!

Hi Rosie! Please don’t cook this for 35 hours. I accidentally left out the hyphen. That should be 3-5 hours. Thanks for pointing it out!
