Strawberries and bananas meet silky, cold milk and rich Greek yogurt for one smoothie full of delicious, delightful flavors.

Strawberries and bananas make a wonderful complement to one another. The creamy banana plays off the juicy, tart-sweet flavor of fresh strawberries. It will have all your taste buds dancing— and that’s before the creamy flavors of Greek yogurt and milk bring their magic to the table, too.

So altogether, this makes for one creamy and nutritious smoothie. Berries are good for you, with antioxidants, vitamins, and phytonutrients. The Greek yogurt has plenty of protein, and the bananas contain potassium.

In fact, whenever I feel my energy begin to flag, a banana always saves me. I’ll think, “I must be getting a cold … ” But—nope. I just needed one of those bananas from the fruit basket that my roommate (thank goodness) always keeps bananas swinging from.

Strawberries give this a natural, fruity, wholesome sweetness that means no extra sugar is required. Those red, sweet, delicious berries are all you need to make this taste like the most ambrosial smoothie you’ve ever had—and that means, Zeus, Athena, and Apollo are all sipping one up there somewhere.

And I’m sipping one too. That’s why my blogs are so inspired. I’m not just making the food I write about; I’m usually eating, drinking, or sipping it as I’m writing, for true, authentic inspiration.

And I hope it shows. Because I’ve needed more than one laptop in the past six months. Smoothies spill sometimes, you know (wink), especially when kids are excited about their smoothie and begin to describe it as “big-time delicious” or “amazingly delicious,” and move a hand for emphasis and … yeah. Little ones AND smoothies—so worth it.

Why you and your family will love strawberry banana smoothies

It takes 5 minutes or less to make a smoothie. Now, that’s fast for such a nutrition-packed meal in a glass, right? So, there’s always time to throw one of these in the blender—no matter how busy you are.

They’re delicious, nutritious, and they help you get 2 servings of fruit and 2 servings of healthy dairy, as well as probiotics in the Greek yogurt, all into your family’s tummy in less time than it takes to find your cellphone and input your screen lock code.

With the smoothie as a complement to a healthy breakfast, you’ll rest assured you’re filling your family up with enough nutritious food to power them through school, work, Bible school, or ball practice—whatever challenge your little angel(s) are tackling right now.

Kids’ brains grow fast, you know. Smoothies make it easy to give them the nutrients they need to get all Young Sheldon at school with or without the bow-tie.

Seriously, though. School today is no easy thing for little ones. They’re learning coding in the second grade—did you know that? I’m like—what? Then I saw in the children’s section of our library a book on how to code Python for kids. WOW.

So, yes, kids need nutritious smoothies and a good breakfast.

And I’ve got great suggestions for a brain-empowering breakfast spread below.

How do I store leftovers?

You might be surprised to learn that you can make huge freezer bags full of these for a smoothie whenever you want. You can freeze these for up to 3 months. Simply thaw and serve. You can store these in the refrigerator as well, in an air-tight pitcher, for 3 days, tops.

Serving suggestions

These strawberry banana smoothies are a nutritious, delicious addition to any snack, breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I like to serve these with a hearty, lazy weekend breakfast of fluffy Blueberry Greek Yogurt Pancakes, these easy Slow Cooker Frittatas, and this amazing Hash Brown Breakfast Casserole.
