For your little strawberry shortcakes and strawberry lovers, nothing says I love you like a delicious, cold Strawberry Milkshake after swimming, ballet practice, or your favorite lunch together …

Strawberry Milkshake

Moms everywhere know that kids don’t just get hungry—they stay hungry. And topping off a meal with a milkshake is often a smart, fruity way to keep everyone full, happy, and energetic for all their kid activities … like lingering about the kitchen asking what’s for breakfast, lunch, dinner, … and snack one, snack two, and snack six.

Tell me I’m lying.

From cooking for three hungry boys ages 10 to 14, I know that milkshakes are a great way to fill hungry bellies that always seem to be going “GROWL” with real feeling all day long.

So, although a burger and fries might sound like lunch enough, I’ve found that a sandwich, a side, and a milkshake keep those hunger pangs away, and you get a much quieter, less busy day.

So, make a double pitcher, sit back, and let the milkshakes do some of the heavy lifting for you. Milkshakes are fun, and they satisfy.

For really hungry girls and boys, plop a scoop of ice cream on top. On special days, a couple of your most heart-shaped fresh or frozen strawberries tucked atop that whipped cream says “I love you” in a huge way.

Why You And Yours Will Love These Strawberry Milkshakes

Strawberry milkshakes are a fun way to keep your family happy and tickled pink with their delicious flavor, pale pink color, and velvety texture.

These milkshakes are quite versatile, too. If you’re craving a satisfying snack, add some Oreos for a strawberry-Oreo milkshake extravaganza treat. Or, drizzle chocolate syrup all Jackson Pollock-like inside some glasses and fill them with the shake. It will only add to the delicious fun.

Or, try this treat I just invented for several little ones at their suggestion, mind you. Take slices of Little Debbie Swiss Roll cakes and put them on top of your milkshake before adding the whipped cream atop them. These little delicious treats don’t just look fun and scrumptious with this shake; they taste delicious against that cool, creamy, dream strawberry milkshake.

How Do I Store Leftovers?

It’s really best to consume these the day of or within 2 days. Stretch some plastic wrap across the top of a pitcher, touching the top of the milkshake blend, so you don’t get any film on the top of the drink. According to all my research, you can freeze these milkshakes for 3 months, but they do tend to get hard and must be re-thinned and, possibly, re-blended.

Serving Suggestions

I like to serve these kid-friendly shakes with kid-friendly dinners and lunches, like this spread I fixed for Beth and all her big, shining boys, and a bigger boy—hubby: Pimento Cheeseburger Sliders, Stuffed Zucchini Boats (which are also big boy-filling), this Bacon Ranch Layered Salad, and these easy Cherry Crumble treats. These are fun and delicious and so complement the flavor and color profile of these milkshakes. They just belong beside them.
