Upcycled Snowman Holiday Craft

I have a super fun and simple upcycled craft project for the holidays. When doing holiday craft projects, I try to repurpose things we already have around the house, and this cute snowman candy dish is made from a tube sock and a small fish bowl. We live about an hour from the nearest store that carries craft supplies, so I try to keep basic craft supplies on hand and work with what we have. Chance are, you already have everything you need to make this cute little guy.

Our goldfish days are over, so I was glad to find a new use for this fish bowl.

Here’s What You’ll Need
white tube sock
small round fish bowl
rubber band
scraps of orange and black felt
small black pom poms
craft glue or glue gun
scrap piece of holiday ribbon
scissors

Place fish bowl inside of tube sock, with bottom of bowl snug against bottom of the sock. It might be a bit of a tight squeeze, but that’s okay. Trim excess sock about 1 1/2 to 2 inches from top of the bowl. Secure around the top of the bowl with a rubber band. Next, roll the remaining bit of sock down, around the top of the bowl.

Cut a section from the sock, approximately 2 inches long, roll it up, and wrap around the base of the fish bowl.

From the black felt cut a small carrot nose. Glue pom poms and nose onto the bowl to create the snowman’s face. If you don’t have pom poms, cut small circles from a piece of black felt.

Tie a piece of ribbon around the top of the candy dish and glue on a peppermint (optional).
