I stumbled upon a little box of buttons that I had collected and decided to whip up a Valentine’s Day craft project with them. I think this Valentine’s Day gift bag adorned with a button heart came out quite cute. It was really easy to make and took no time at all.
What You’ll Need
Kraft bag with handles
Approximately 30-40 assorted buttons (depending on the size of your heart)
Glue gun or other clear drying craft glue (I used Scotch Scrapbooker’s Glue with 2-Way Applicator)
Heart Template (or you can wing it)
Scissors
Fine tip marker
1 sheet of card stock paper
Directions
Cut heart from a sheet of card stock paper and write your Valentine’s Day message in the center. You can wing this if you have a steady hand, but I used a printable template and Picnik to add the text.
Glue the heart onto the paper bag. Next, glue buttons around the outline of the heart and allow to dry.
That’s it! In just a few minutes and minimal supplies you can create a cute Valentine’s Day button heart gift bag like mine.
This would be a great thing to put the kids valentines they get at school in. Cute Idea.
Now here’s a great way to use all those extra buttons I have lying around. Thanks so much for the great idea.
Cute. I have a ton of buttons and I have been trying to find something awesome to put my boyfriend’s items in. 😀
I have a collection of buttons – Never knew what to do with them. Neat-o
Love this. Brought back memories of the button box we had growing up and the crafts we did with them.
I love this! I was looking for something simple but really cute and this fits the bill! I have a question though. You said you used a template and Picnik for the writing…what is Picnik? Is it a font? Thanks!
I saved a jpg image of the template and then uploaded it to Picnic to add the text. Picnik is a free image editing program from Google, but use it while you can. They are discontinuing it 🙁
Cute bags! Will have to keep this craft in mind for next year.
