Ingredients
  

  • 8 slices bacon
  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 blend
  • Kosher salt and black pepper to taste
  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • 4 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 4 hamburger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 4 slices tomato
  • Other preferred toppings such as onion or pickle slices

Instructions
 

  • In a skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crispy, about 6-12 minutes. Transfer to a paper towel-lined plate to drain.
  • Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions and shape each into a patty. Season both sides with salt and pepper.

  • Grill or pan-fry the patties over medium-high heat for 3-5 minutes per side, depending on your desired doneness. Place a slice of cheddar cheese on each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.

  • Spread mayonnaise on the bottom halves of the buns and toast them if desired. Add a lettuce leaf and a tomato slice. Top with a cheese-topped patty and two slices of bacon.

  • Add any other preferred toppings and then cover with the top bun halves and serve immediately.
