Ingredients
  

  • 1/3 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 1/2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup half-and-half
  • 2 teaspoons granulated sugar
  • Kosher salt to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper
  • 4 cups corn kernels fresh shucked or thawed frozen
  • 1/2 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
  • Fresh parsley chopped (for garnish)

Instructions
 

  • In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir in the flour and cook for about 1 minute until the mixture is combined.

  • Slowly whisk in the half-and-half along with the sugar, salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper. Let the mixture simmer for about 5 minutes until it thickens.
