This apple crunch snack for kids is easy to prepare, healthy and delicious.

When my children come home from school they are super hungry.  The kind of hunger that makes you think that they haven’t eaten a bite all day!  I guess it’s safe to say that they are working hard at school and burning lots of calories while they’re at it! This apple crunch snack for kids is perfect for after school.

I’m fortunate enough to be home when they arrive home from school each day.  It’s because of that, I look for opportunities to provide them with nutritious, fun, after school snacks just like this Apple Crunch Snack!

You’re going to love it too as it’s simple to make and only requires a couple of ingredients!  So grab a few apples, a creamy base and some crunchy toppings and get ready to surprise your hard working children when they come home from school!

I’m especially fond of this after school snack because it’s also perfect for my food allergy kiddo!  We used the following gluten free, nut free and egg free products.  Feel free to substitute any of these for your kid’s favorites!

  • Apple slices
  • Gluten-free Chocolate Crispy Rice Cereal
  • Chocolate Chips
  • Gluten-free Pretzels
  • Creamy SoyNut Butter

Once you’ve washed and dried your apples, grab a cutting board and knife.  Slice the apples so that you have a flat surface to spread your creamy topping onto.

My children had fun adding their toppings to their liking.  I was surprised to see that my boys had one favorite topping and my daughter liked all toppings mixed together.  That was my personal favorite too!  There’s something super delicious about mixing salty and sweet flavors into one bite!

what a wonderful idea, and they look tasty, too, that they will be gobbled up! I want to try it! Won’t ruin their appetite for dinner, but will hit the spot!

This is a good idea. I have never thought to put peanut butter on top of an apple.

Very cute! Peanut butter on apple wedges is a favorite snack here but getting the kids involved with fun food play is a whole other level of good snacking, 😀
