Quick and easy Banana Chocolate Chip Bars are a nice alternative to the classic chocolate chip cookie. These bars are soft, moist and a great treat for any day of the week.

Banana and chocolate is such a wonderful flavor combination, and come together perfectly in this simple cookie bar. I have been meaning to share this recipe with you for a while now. These Banana Chocolate Chip Bars are sure to be a big hit with your family.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup butter, softened
  • 2/3 cup white sugar
  • 2/3 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup banana, mashed (3-4 ripe bananas)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350. Grease a baking pan and set aside.

Step 2: Beat butter for about a minutes with the mixer. Add sugars, baking powder and salt. Beat until combined. Add eggs and banana and beat well. Add flour and mix by hand. Stir in chocolate chips.

Step 3: Spread into prepared baking pan and top with additional chocolate chips if desired.

Step 4: Bake 20-25 minutes until golden brown. Cool and cut into bars.

Step 5: Makes 36 bars.
