Nope. At least not anymore!
This post is sponsored by Crest. Amazon is offering $2 off NEW Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Charcoal and Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Coconut Oil for a limited time.
Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy has introduced two new formulas to its existing line of variants focused on purifying the teeth surface for a whiter, cleaner smile. The two new formula variants – Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Charcoal and Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Coconut Oil – are quite different from any toothpaste or teeth whitener I have used before.
After trying each of these, I have to say that I am very pleasantly surprised. They are not your typical toothpastes, but that’s what’s so great about them. You get the great taste and results that you would expect from Crest, plus a little something special. I’m especially intrigued by the activated charcoal toothpaste. After using it for a little over a week, will probably stick with it.
The Charcoal Toothpaste Trend
Brushing your teeth with activated charcoal ingredients has become an exciting new way to whiten teeth. The unfortunate part of brushing with charcoal is the huge mess it can leave behind in your sink, on your nails and, most importantly, in your mouth. The process itself can also be equally frustrating for a brushing experience that is longer, messier and less flavorful than regular brushing.
Seriously though, I do understand the many benefits of charcoal. A few months back I started using a charcoal facial cleanser and then added a charcoal soap for bathing. They do an amazing job of cleansing and clearing up blemishes, and leave me feeling fresh, clean and invigorated. I’m a huge fan of the benefits of activated charcoal, but it took me a while to try brushing with it. Putting charcoal into my mouth just seemed kind of icky to me.
While activated charcoal does an amazing job of whitening teeth, it turns everything else black. What a mess! I’ve seen some activated charcoal toothpastes that look downright gross. Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Charcoal is totally different.
I am so glad I gave Crest 3D White Charcoal a try. The new formula gave me the opportunity to try brushing with charcoal without the mess!

Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Charcoal offers a unique brushing experience – the charcoal ingredient creates a striped toothpaste that is sparkly grey in color and a fresh, minty flavor that lasts for hours after brushing.
I’m a visual person, so the fact that charcoal in this toothpaste is a pretty sparkly grey color really helps. No matter how well it works, If this paste were a black mess, I don’t think I could wrap my head around it. THANK YOU, Crest! I like that the foam changes color as I brush because it makes me feel like I can see the toothpaste working.
In addition to cleaning your teeth and freshening your breath, the Crest 3D White Charcoal paste helps whiten surface stains and strengthen your enamel while cleaning.
I’ve loved getting to experience using charcoal, and think Crest 3D White Whitening Therapy with Charcoal is a toothpaste I will continue using to see how it really brightens my teeth over the long term. If brushing with charcoal isn’t your jam, definitely give the Crest 3D White with Coconut Oil a try. The vanilla is subtle but leaves you with such a clean feeling. I really like it a lot too.

I have seen the trend of charcoal in everything lately, and am scared to try it. I may give this toothpaste a try though since my teeth could use some whitening. My daughter is 11 I wonder if it’s safe for tweens?
