DIY Lava Lamp Stem Experiment

It is so important to keep kids engaged over the summer, but for most kids, if science isn’t fun, they just aren’t interested. This happens a lot in school and that is why so many kids start to dread science class. If you keep science and STEM fun for kids, they will continue to love to learn. That is why this is such a great experiment.

How Is This a Stem Experiment

Kids will see how the Alka Seltzer tablets, oil and water combine and what the reaction looks like. Kids will see how the Alka Seltzer tablets change the oil and water. Kids will also see how oil and water react to each other.

What Else Can Kids Add to the DIY Lava Lamp Stem Experiment

We are adding food coloring to the lava lamp but you can also add glitter and small pieces of confetti. Anything bigger will not continue to go around in the solution.
