Probably just as much as Christmas, my family loves baking and cooking for Easter. Now that Becca and Maddie are into their teens, they are a big help in the kitchen. It amazes me that these once oh-so messy cookie decorators, are now quite talented bakers and decorators.
I wish that when my granddaughters were younger, I had known about the Bakery Crafts cookie and cupcake decorating kits. These fun kits, available at Walmart in the Easter Holiday isle, make holiday baking so easy.Â
There just isn’t much cuter than a cupcake adorned with an Easter bunny or chick. I absolutely fell in love with the Easter Bunny Cookie Cupcake Decoration Kit from Bakery Crafts. What could be better than having a treat that is both a cookie AND a cupcake?!
I am going to make these Easter bunny cupcakes for Easter day, and decided to do a trial run. It’s basically just an excuse to eat these cupcakes twice.
The Easter Bunny Cookie Cupcake Decorating Kit combines a cookie and a cupcake to make an adorable Easter Bunny! The kit includes: (1) Cookie Cutter, Cupcake Liners, Candy Decorations, and (2) Tubes of Icing.
The icing provided in the kit is more than enough to decorate the bunny ears and to create the mouth. Additionally, you will need to prepare two dozen cupcakes, along with your favorite sugar cookie recipe. You will also need some additional decorator icing for the tops of the cupcakes. You can use Bakery Crafts Decorator Icing in White or prepare your favorite buttercream icing recipe.
Easter Bunny Cupcakes
Ingredients:
(1) Bakery Crafts Easter Bunny Cookie Cupcake Decorating Kit
2 dozen prepared cupcakes
Bakery Crafts Decorator Icing (White) or prepared buttercream icing
sugar cookie dough (for the bunny ears)
You’ll also need a pastry bag fitted with grass tip or star tip. (optional)
Directions:
Start off by making your bunny ears. Use your favorite rolled sugar cookie recipe and the bunny ear cookie cutter contained in the kit, to make 24 sets of bunny ears. Allow the cookies to cool completely. Then, using the white and pink decorator icing, decorate the ears. You’ll want to give each ear a pink center, surrounded by white. The picture on the Decoration Kit box serves as a great guide for this. Set the cookies aside.
Prepare 2 dozen cupcakes and allow to cool completely. If you are not using Bakery Crafts Decorator Icing to frost your cupcakes, prepare your frosting.
Top each cupcake with a thin layer of frosting. Next, add the fur. I used the Wilton grass tip #233 to add fur to my bunnies. You could optional use a star tip or just swirl the frosting on with a spatula or spoon.
Gently press one of the bunny ears cookies into the top of each cupcake. I placed mine slightly off center.
Add two eyes just below the ears. Add a candy heart nose. Use the ping icing tube to draw on a mouth, just below the nose.
I am beyond in love with this cupcake decorating kit from Bakery Crafts, and am thrilled that I can pick it up when I am shopping at Walmart. I’m such a sucker for convenience.
