The summer of 2020 will be one for the record books. Living in Florida with all of the wonderful sunshine and beaches has definitely helped me to keep my sanity. My family has found ways to have fun while still social distancing by boating, going on nature walks and visiting some of our favorite lesser-known beaches.

As summer break nears an end, I’m shifting my focus to preparation for the new school year. We’ve opted for e-learning through our county which is a good fit for us, since I am considered at-risk and have the ability to work from home. We’ll be using a different e-learning platform from last spring and our school has implemented a more structured e-learning system.

One thing I learned last spring is that the dining room table isn’t going to cut it in the long-term for remote learning. Some more separation between work and school space is greatly needed. We’ve spent some time this week doing some decluttering and moving things around in my daughter’s bedroom to make space for a new desk and chair.

Brighter days are ahead.
