Hot Chocolate Bar and Christmas Dessert Party Ideas

Post sponsored by Mirum. Opinions are 100% my own. I’m going to let you in on a little secret today and share some of my simple Christmas dessert party ideas using Marie Callender’s pies, Reddi-wip and Swiss Miss – all available at Walmart.

I love entertaining during the holiday season. Big lavish parties aren’t my thing, but I do host several smaller gatherings for friends and family. Nothing brings a smile to faces young and old like homemade holiday desserts. But let’s face it. Not many people have all that extra love and care during the holiday season. Not this mom.

Simple Christmas Dessert Party Ideas

A hot chocolate bar is a wonderful addition to any holiday party.

I love doing this at all my winter parties and gatherings, because it is so easy to put together and can have a real WOW factor. A hot chocolate bar can be a party in itself, but is also a great addition to your sweet treats.

For larger crowds I purchase disposable cups, but I love it when I host a small party and I can pull out all of my holiday mugs. I ‘might’ have a little addiction to coffee mugs.

Creating a hot chocolate bar is so easy. Simply set out some packets of Swiss Miss hot chocolate, put your tea kettle on or fill a carafe with hot water, and set out some fun toppings like holiday sprinkles, chocolate chips and marshmallows.

Use containers in a variety of shapes and sizes to create interest.

Also, don’t forget that candy canes are great for stirring!

Reddi-wip is an absolute must for any hot chocolate bar. You should probably grab more than one can. People (like my little one) get a little carried away sometimes and really pile on the Reddi-wip.

This is holiday perfection. See more ideas like this.

Here’s a super fun trick:

Make a frosty snowflake or star by spraying a thick layer of Reddi-wip into a freezer safe container and chill overnight. Use a cookie cutter to cut a snowflake or star shape from the frozen whipped topping. This was such a big hit at my last party! Guests will love watching it melt away in the hot cocoa.

When it comes to the desserts, please don’t feel like you have to spend all day baking. It truly isn’t necessary. Pull out your holiday platters and pile them up with ready-made treats from your store’s bakery and freezer section. Marie Callender’s pies are perfect for Christmas dessert parties.

Trick: Bake Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie tastes like homemade, and you can give it a homemade appearance by baking it in your own pie plate. I would never  suggest that you lie and say you baked it yourself.

But if they don’t ask, don’t tell. It will be our little secret.

Make your Marie Callender’s Dutch Apple Pie extra special for the holidays with some Reddi-wip and a salted caramel drizzle. It’s an oh-so scrumptious treat.

You’re welcome.

Everyone is super busy during the holiday season, but don’t let that keep you from entertaining. With Marie Callender’s pies, Reddi-wip and Swiss Miss at Walmart, you can create festive desserts that look and taste homemade—without all the time and effort. By adding special touches to the sweet treats you hold dear, your guests will think you spent hours in the kitchen (not true!), while you actually spend more time with the ones you love. What’s not to love about that?!

I hope my simple Christmas dessert party ideas and “taste of homemade” inspiration help you to holiday entertain with ease this year, and spend more time with your guests. Merry Christmas!

What a fun idea for a get together, we’ve all done the sundae thing, but what better thing to do in the winter than a hot chocolate bar!

The marie callendar pie looks amazing, can’t even tell it was frozen! I wonder if they have the razzleberry flavor, it’s my grandpa’s favorite.
