It’s About the Freedom of the Foot: Nike Free Run #NikeKids

It’s been a few weeks since Maddie and I returned from our fabulous trip to the Nike World Headquarters near Portland, Oregon for the Nike Young Athletes Innovation Summit. We had such an incredible experience, meeting many of the Nike experts and learning about the advanced technology that goes into Nike Free Run shoes. The technology that has gone into Nike Free is pretty amazing, but it really all boils down to how your foot feels in the shoes. Is it really possible to get the support you need from flexible footwear?

Before making this trip, I had the same pair of Nike Air sneakers for over ten years. No, I don’t need a lecture about how often I should replace my shoes. Trust me, I’ve seen the error of my ways. Thanks to the generous folks at Nike, Maddie and I each left the summit with new Nike Free Runners and Maddie just received a second pair in the mail, that she designed herself. We’ve been wearing them almost every day since returning home.

Nike Free – Born to be Better, Stronger Faster!

I’m the kind of person who has to see something to believe it. After hearing all the great things about Nike Free at the Young Athletes Summit, I knew they would be pretty good shoes. But after wearing them for a few weeks, I am a true believer in the Freedom of the Foot philosophy and all it’s many benefits. You not only get increased flexibility, balance, muscle tone and strength by wearing Nike Free; but you also get to to wear a pair of shoes that look really cool! Nike Free shoes come in a lot of fun, bright colors and they look different from all other running shoes with their flexible soles.

The most researched technology at Nike, has gone into Free and Barefoot training!

Even after a day of power shopping, my feet don’t feel tired. I love getting the support of a sneaker, while still having the flexibility of being barefoot. Nike free actually mimics the bare foot, giving a natural range of motion. After wearing my Nike Free shoes, my other hard soled shoes just don’t feel comfortable. I’ve worn many of those hard sandals over the years, the ones that mold to your feet, and they just don’t feel quite as comfortable anymore.

Maddie is one of those kids that is always running, jumping, climbing; and her new Nike’s are living up to the challenge. She spends a lot of time on the trampoline practicing her jumps and tumbling for cheerleading and is used to not wear shoes at all, because they restricted her too much. Now she wears her Nike Free shoes when she’s jumping. Maddie likes the support that the shoes give her, while still giving her feet the flexibility she needs to jump high into the air.

Her brother and sister are pretty jealous of her new Nike Free shoes, but I think it’s Maddie’s dad who is most jealous. He can’t stop telling people about Nike Free. I think we’ll be getting the whole family some new Free Runs in the very near future. I’m looking forward to adding some more fun colors to my collection!

Dream Big!

We took away much more than shoes from our trip to the Nike Campus. We’ve made some lifelong friends and have discovered the importance of being Free. Nike Free flexible footwear truly is all about the freedom of the foot. As an added bonus, I have been motivated to be more active. I find that I can walk much further and longer when wearing my new shoes, so Nike Free will help me to become more healthy.
