Lately I have seen a lot of recipes that use pumpkin, while reading my favorite blogs and stalking Pinterest which is my favorite past time these days.

There is no mistaking that Fall is here and I can’t seem to get enough of all the pumpkin dessert and recipe goodness that is abounding.

Pumpkin Roll-Ups are the perfect treat for breakfast or dessert. They are super simple to make and my family couldn’t get enough of them. In my book, you can’t go wrong with a dessert that uses crescent rolls and this recipe is no exception.

This recipe yields pumpkin roll-ups.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 can pumpkin
  • 3 cans crescent rolls
  • 1/2 stick of softened butter
  • 1/4 cup of sugar
  • 2 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

Step 2: In a small bowl, mix the sugar, salt, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg, and ginger.

Step 3: In a separate medium sized bowl, beat the egg lightly.

Step 4: Stir in the pumpkin and the spice mixture you just prepared. Cover with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for 2o to 30 minutes.

Step 5: Unroll the crescent rolls and lay them out flat.

Step 6: Spread the cold pumpkin mixture onto each triangle.

Step 7: Roll each crescent roll according to package directions (starting at the wide end).

Step 8: In a small bowl, mix the 1/4 cup of sugar and 2 tablespoons of pumpkin pie spice.

Step 9: Spread the softened butter on the tops of each crescent roll. Lightly sprinkle with sugar/spice mix.

Step 10: Place roll-ups on a lightly greased baking sheet and bake at 375 degrees for between 10-12 minutes.

Step 11: Serve warm and enjoy!

Yum! These sound delicious and easy to make! I actually have a pumpkin right now (not canned pumpkin) – maybe I’ll try this with it!

I warn you in advance that this jello brain recipe is not for weak stomached individuals. If you are looking for something totally gross and gruesome to serve your guests this Halloween, jello brains are for you.
