During the month leading up to Christmas, there are so many get togethers and parties that it can be hard to think of what goodie you are going to bring to the next one. If you are wondering what Christmas treat to take, I have one that is so cute and everyone will be talking about. Make these simple Santa Belt Cupcakes.

A Santa Belt Cupcake with red sprinkles, white frosting, a black belt, and buttons.

These cupcakes are simple to decorate and need nothing more than a pipping bag and small piping tip to make.

If you are new to using a piping bag and tip, this is a great recipe to start with because it is just simply squeezing the bag to force the icing out. I love this piping bag and tip set because it has everything you need for this cupcake and just about any other you will find online. If you don’t want to use a reusable bag with tips, you can also fold parchment paper into a bag or use a baggie with the tip cut. These are both harder methods and people tend to get frustrated the first few times they do them.

Ingredients:

  • package cake mix for 12 cupcakes
  • white frosting
  • black icing
  • red sugar sprinkles

Instructions:

Step 1: Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

Step 2: Line a 12 cup cupcake pan with liners.

Step 3: Prepare the cake mix according to directions. Pour into the cupcake pan.

Step 4: Bake for 15 minutes or until the top is golden brown.

Step 5: Let cool.

Step 6: You can use this Betty Crocker Cupcake Frosting for easy piping or regular white frosting.

Step 7: Pipe the white frosting onto the cupcakes.

Step 8: Fill a small bowl with red sugar sprinkles. Dip the top of the cupcake in the sprinkles making sure it’s completely covered.

Step 9: Use the white frosting to make a circle on the cupcake.

Step 10: Pipe the black icing in a horizontal line in the center of the cupcake for a belt.

Step 11: Pipe 2 buttons above the belt and 2 below.
