I love making Christmas treats. I make them for school events, bake sales, family get together and Christmas parties. I am always trying to think of something new and creative to bring to parties with me. Since most kids love Rice Krispies treats, I decided I would make a Christmas version of Rice Krispie treats. These Santa Hat Rice Krispies Treats will be hit for both parents and kids alike.

This Christmas treat is easy to make and takes very little time or effort. What I love is that the treats are so cute everyone will be asking how to make it. It is also a great last minute Christmas treat idea for those last minute guests.
Santa Hat Rice Krispies Treats
Ingredients:
10 ounce bag of marshmallows
6 cups of Rice Krispies cereal
3 tablespoons softened butter
Red food coloring
Vanilla frosting
Decorating bag with a Star decorating tip: I love this piping bag and tip set because it has everything you need for this treat and just about any other you will find online

Directions:
1. In a large glass mixing bowl, combine your marshmallows and softened butter and heat for 1 to 2 minutes or until your marshmallows start to get soft and puffy.
2. Mix in enough food coloring to color your marshmallows red and stir well.
3. Now mix in 3 cups of your Rice Krispies cereal, give it a quick stir and mix in the other 3 cups.
4. Scoop and press your red Rice Krispies into the bottom of a greased 9×9″ baking pan (I like to use a greased potato masher) and let set for about an hour.
5. Cut your Rice Krispies into triangles and place onto a piece of parchment paper.
6. Fill a decorating bag with a star tip with vanilla frosting and use it to frost the bottom of your hats and a star dot on the top of your hats.
