When you make these cupcakes, you want to make sure you store them properly so that they last as long as possible. Cupcakes should be stored at room temperature whenever possible. These cupcakes should be covered well and stored at room temperature unless you use a cream cheese frosting or fresh fruit. Cupcakes taste best whenever they are stored at room temperature. Whenever you use fresh fruit or cream cheese frosting it should be stored in the refrigerator.
How Can I Make These Cupcakes Taste Like Watermelon
If you want the cupcakes to taste like a watermelon you can use a watermelon cake mix or you can use watermelon extract. I have not seen watermelon extract in the grocery store but it available online.
How to Make the Pink Frosting Swirl
When you are making these cupcakes, you want to swirl the pink frosting. Using a piping bag and a start tip, you will want to fill it with pink frosting. Starting on the outside of the cupcakes, squeeze the frosting as you circle the cupcake and build up the center of the cupcake.

How to Make Summer Watermelon Cupcakes
- Add frosting to a piping bag prepared with the open star tip.
- Pipe frosting over cupcake in a circular direction working from the inside of the cupcake towards the outer circle and then back into the middle to create a pointed top.
- Decorate with chocolate chips.
