With the celebration of Veterans Day earlier this week, many of us have Veterans and gratitude on our minds. In honor of Veteran’s Day and the Veterans in my family who have served, I have partnered with DAV (Disabled American Veterans) for this sponsored post to share how you can support our Veterans through DAV Vehicle Donation Program.
I was a military spouse for quite a few years when my son’s father served in the Navy. I understand a little bit about some of the sacrifices military families make for our country. My niece’s husband is currently a Marine. He makes our family proud.
My favorite Veteran is my fiancé, Andy, who served in the Navy before starting his career in law enforcement.
I have so much appreciation and respect for the men and women who serve in the armed forces. I try to honor them by always showing respect and supporting Veteran causes and Veteran non-profit organizations, such as DAV.
What is DAV?
DAV is a non-profit charitable organization with a mission to provide a lifetime of support for Disabled American Veterans of all generations and their families! They are dedicated to making a difference and helping more than one million veterans in positive, life-changing ways each year.
DAV’s vehicle donation program empowers veterans to lead high-quality lives with respect and dignity. It is dedicated to a single purpose of keeping our promise to America’s veterans.
How DAV Vehicle Donation Program Helps
DAV supports Veterans by ensuring that they and their families can access the full range of benefits available to them; fighting for the interests of America’s injured heroes on Capitol Hill; providing employment resources to veterans and their families and educating the public about the great sacrifices and needs of veterans transitioning back to civilian life.
DAV is a non-profit organization with more than 1 million members and was founded in 1920 and chartered by the U.S. Congress in 1932. Learn more at www.dav.org.
How You Can Help Support Veterans with DAV
This holiday season, while thinking about charitable giving, I hope you will consider supporting Veterans with DAV. Have a car, heavy equipment, or off-road vehicle you don’t need anymore? Donate it! Make a tax-deductible donation to DAV. All vehicles are considered! DAV accepts cars, trucks, RVs, motorcycles, trailers, boats, campers, off-road vehicles, heavy equipment, and most other motorized vehicles— whether they’re running or not.
I wish I had known about DAV when I sold my old Honda Civic, but now I know what to do for next time.
Here’s How It Works:
1. Visit our website Car4DAV.com to submit the secure online form or call 844-440-4267 seven days a week.
2. Schedule Your Free and Convenient Pick-up: DAV works around your schedule to pick-up your donated vehicle. As long as your vehicle is towable and tow truck accessible, DAV provides free and convenient pick-up that is a touchless experience. We can pick up your vehicle just about anywhere in the U.S. within 72 hours of completing the donation.
3. Get Your Tax Deduction. Most vehicle donations qualify for a tax deduction. When your vehicle is picked up, the driver will provide you with an initial donation receipt. You may claim as a tax deduction the fair market value of your vehicle up to $500 on your donation even if your vehicle sells for less. If your vehicle sells for over $500, we will provide a 1098-C IRS form which will allow you to claim the full sale price.
Your Old Vehicle + DAV = Helps 1M+ Veterans
During the holiday season many people give more thought to charitable giving and end-of-year tax deductions. While you do so, I hope you’ll support Veterans and consider a year-end gift to DAV. Not just year-end donations throughout the holiday season, but all year long. There is always a need.
