Over the weekend, I took a look back at Google Analytics to see what our top performing posts were for 2014. Something I learned is that 8 out of our 10 top posts are recipes. You people sure like to eat! Just kidding. It seems that the cheesier or sweeter a dish is, the more popular it seems to be. Recipes with ease of preparation are also very popular.
I was thrilled to learn that our recipes category came in at number 6, which means people are looking specifically for more recipes on our site. Another interesting tidbit, is this that our Texas Turtle Sheet Cake recipe ranked number 2, after having just been published in late October. That recipe has gone viral, and I am not at all surprised. It’s oh-so decadent and delicious!
Then there is our Rigatoni Pasta Bake which was published back in 2013 but continues to be a top recipe, ranking as our number one traffic source for 2014. It’s cheesy goodness! One of the very oldest recipes on our site made a comeback, Double Fudge Coca Cola Cake, ranking number 9 on our top 10 recipe list. The picture is TERRIBLE and needs to be updated, but clearly the recipe is amazing for it to still be doing so well.
