This is a sponsored post from One2One Network and Microsoft Office 365. All opinions expressed about Microsoft Office 365 and OneNote are my own.
There was a time not so very long ago when I could have only dreamed about being so organized with my family vacation and travel planning. Thanks to the many wonderful features available through Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium and OneNote travel notebook, I can easily keep track of all my travel research and planning details in one place.
Office 365 Home Premium offers the latest and most complete set of Office applications: Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, Outlook, Publisher and Access. The new Microsoft Office 365 Home Premium is an essential tool to help you and your family plan and prepare for that next big trip – so you can enjoy more of the things you want to do. With the recent addition of the OneNote travel notebook, Office 365 users have everything they need for travel planning.
OneNote is a note-taking tool that you can take just about anywhere you go. It’s not just notes though; you can take screen captures, audio, and photos and put them all in one handy place. The new, free travel notebook, with expert tips from Travel + Leisure makes information easier than ever to find with the search and tagging features, plus you can access it from anywhere by saving it to the cloud on SkyDrive.
1. Reference Your Notes: Once all your research and planning details are in OneNote, it’s easy to recall a particular detail at any given moment. Use Instant Search in the bar on the top right to recall anything you’ve ever put in OneNote.
2. Turn Online Research into Plans: Clip and save information from the web with the “Send to OneNote” tool. As you make reservations, clip screenshots and send web pages or entire documents directly to sections of your notebook, no printer needed! You can also scan into OneNote critical information that you might need on your trip, such as passports, medication labels or immunization records. This will ensure they are available even if the originals are lost or stolen.
3. Move With Your Notes On-the-Go: Save your notebook to SkyDrive, and access it on your mobile phone or in the browser with the OneNote Web App. Once in the cloud, you’ll be able to access your information across your favorite devices — including your Windows PC or Windows Phone.
4. Let Excel and OneNote Work Together for You: With OneNote 2013, you can create and import an Excel vacation budget spreadsheet right into your notebook. What’s better is that when you edit that spreadsheet in OneNote, it will update the original Excel spreadsheet at the same time. It also supports formatting for data sorting, cell shading and header rows within table cells so you can make your information both beautiful and functional.
5. Collaborate with Family and Friends via SkyDrive: Give your friends and family access to your travel notebook on SkyDrive so they can add their own travel tips or advise, and keep track of your itinerary. You can even see where others make changes and revisions throughout your notebook with OneNote 2013 identity profiles. Each authors’ initials are marked next to their work for better collaboration!
I’m always worried that I am going to forget something when I travel. The OneNote Remember Tab (pictured above) will help you keep track of everything you need to pack. There is even a spot on this tab for you to keep track of medical information and emergency contacts.
Whether I am planning our next family road trip, my travel for a media event or conference, Office 365 Home Premium and NoteBook travel app is proving to be very handy. I can keep track of my hotel stays, meetings and conference sessions, off site parties, flight information, transportation, phone numbers, and so much more. Since I work from home on my laptop and travel with my Surface tablet, saving my OneNote notebook with SkyDrive will give me access to things like schedules and reservations whichever device I choose to use.
I have to admit that until just a couple of years ago, I was very old school when it came to computers and technology. By the standards of many, I probably still am. I learn stuff from the kids all the time when it comes to technology. My point is that you don’t have to be any sort of a computer genius to use the tools available through OneNote. It is so user-friendly. Just play around with it, and trust me – you’re not going to break it. You might just surprise yourself!
With Office 365 Home Premium and the new features in OneNote, you can access all of your ideas and information even when you’re on-the-go, so you can save yourself from those “where did I put that…” moments.
I’ve actually been using Office 365 for several months now as a Windows Champions Ambassador, but just recently downloaded the free OneNote travel notebook. Office 365 Home Premium is available for $99.99 (USD) for an annual subscription, and includes one license for your entire household to use and can be installed on up to 5 devices, including Windows tablets and PCs. There is currently a free 30 day trial available online at office.com. Please note that you’ll need to use your (free) Microsoft account when you purchase and download. You can download the Microsoft Office OneNote Travel Notebook for free with your subscription to Office 365.
