I think you’re really going to like the watermelon, nectarine and mint coolers I made for this year’s contest.

Don’t live in Georgia? No worries. You’ll find Georgia grown watermelons all over the place. I was visiting my adult son and my granddogs in Tennessee last week, and his local Walmart had 4 giant boxes filled with Georgia grown watermelons.
He might have thought his mom was a little bit wacky when I pulled out my phone to snap a picture of those watermelons. Who am I kidding? He’s known for a while that his mom is a little bit off. Needless to say, we didn’t leave empty handed. I just had to get one of those watermelons.
Watermelon, Nectarine and Mint Coolers
You know me. I like to keep things simple, especially during the summer months, and this watermelon drink recipe of mine is no exception. With a sweet and juicy Georgia grown watermelon as the star ingredient, you really don’t need a whole lot else.
Watermelon is so perfect for drink recipes. Just drop some watermelon chunks into your blender or food processor and pulse a few times until it becomes liquid. It pairs great with lemon-lime soda and other fruit juices or enjoy all by itself.
In addition to watermelon, I’ve been on a bit of a nectarine kick this summer, so I decided to pair them together for this recipe.
This is a non-alcoholic drink recipe, but you could easily make an adult version by adding a little rum or vodka. I’ll be going that route the next time I have the girls over.

Tip: Keep your drinks from getting watered down by making watermelon ice cubes. Just puree some fresh seedless watermelon in the blender until liquid. Poor into ice cube trays and freeze.

To make this drink recipe, which serves 4 people, you’ll need about 2 cups of fresh watermelon juice which is equal to 4-5 cups of watermelon chunks. You’ll also need 2 nectarines that have been peeled and cut into pieces and pureed.
The recipe also calls for 1 1/2 cups of seltzer water, but you could optionally use lemon-lime soda. I sweetened it with a little honey. Agave nectar would also be a good sweetener for this drink.
I garnished the drinks with a little fresh mint, but that’s totally optional.

Watermelon, Nectarine and Mint Coolers

This definitely looks like a cool and reffreshing drink that’s perfect for hot summer days! I think I’ll surprise my husband with this when he comes home from work!
This is such a great beverage! I love that combination of fruits.
Watermelon drinks are so refreshing in the summertime. It’s my dream to move to Georgia once the girls have moved out and I’ll be sure to load up on the locally grown watermelons as soon as I can!
I don’t know if Georgia melons are better but I love my New Jersey fruit. Great combination and mint makes it a great refreshing drink.
This is oh-so-refreshing! Will try it this weekend!!
I love, love watermelon. I can eat it all year round. But, the only thing I like watermelon flavored are Jolly Ranchers. I have tried so many times to make slushies and fun dessert things, I can’t ever do it. But this sounds amazing. I know my friends would love it.
Your photos are gorgeous. My husband took a watermelon and just blended it into a drink for me and it was delicious so I love your touches of adding things which I’ll have to do next time. Knob glasses are cute too!
Now this is my kind of summer drink! It looks so delicious and so refreshing! I would love to try it!
Watermelon seriously gets me addicted every summer. They definitely don’t taste good out of season, I learned the hard way. lol Adding this to my list!!
Watermelons are my go-to fruit during the summer. I love the natural sweetness. Thanks for the recipe for this watermelon nectarine cooler. I will make this for our weekend bbq. 🙂
