The white picket fence, happily ever after kind of dreams. We would live in a perfect house, and I would have a perfect marriage. My children would all be healthy and deliriously happy. They would never want for anything. In a perfect world.

One of the things I took away from the MetLife “My Dad’s Story” video is that we can create our own destiny.
Sometimes life is difficult. Really difficult. As parents we do everything we can to shield our children from these harsh realities. After my divorce, life for me and my four kids was really hard at times. I did my best to shield them from it, although I think the difficulties and hardships helped make them the kind and hard-working people they are today. Through it all, I managed to raise four incredible human beings.
It has always been my dream for my children to get a good education, and live happy and successful lives. I want them to pursue their own dreams and live life to it’s fullest.

That video made me tear up the first time I saw it. It really pulled on the heart strings!
Happy and Successful for me too, but also… Just wish I am around for them. I Lost my mom early and I just hope to be there for everything for them!
For my ASD daughter, I wish for her to be able to speak. She can communicate, but she’s non-verbal so I’d love to give her that gift.
I dream for my children to be successful. To me that means that they’ll be happy. Have a great family and be content with life.

I dream for my children to be happy and healthy. I don’t really care what they do as long as they contribute positively to society and love their lives.
Gosh, I want my children to have a shot at a good education and work. I don’t want them to struggle. My mother struggled when we were kids to keep us fed and clothed and my husband and I have worked hard not to fall into those same struggles. Right now they want for nothing, but I have to teach them that they have to give their futures serious thought.
Thank goodness I am not wearing mascara. It would be running down my face.
I think my mother had very odd dreams for me growing up. Of course she had the typical be successful and be well off as well. I’m not a mother myself yet, but I think for me it’s pretty simple. I just want them to be happy with themselves, that is something I struggle with an not many people have.
My dream for my children would have to be that they are happy and healthy. Happiness would be the biggest one though.
