Earlier this month, I shared some holiday hostess gift ideas and tips for easy holiday entertaining. Now I want to talk about how to survive your holiday party cleanup. Nobody, including me, wants to spend hours cleaning up after a holiday party. Especially, since you have already spent hours preparing your home for holiday guests.

I have partnered with CVS for a sponsored series, to share my holiday entertaining tips.

How to Survive Your Holiday Party Cleanup

Some Tips on How to Survive Your Holiday Party Cleanup:

1. Use paper plates, plastic silverware, and disposable cups. I promise, your guests aren’t going to think badly of you for using paper products. If anything, you are saving them the guild of knowing you are spending the whole evening washing dishes. CVS has a great selection of Total Home paper products to choose from, to make your holiday cleanup a breeze.

Total Home Premium Dinner Napkins are pretty snazzy. I recommend placing them on the table, in a festive holiday basket of some sort, for and added touch and your guests convenience.

2. Keep a container of cleaning wipes on hand for spills, during your party. It’s inevitable that someone is going to spill a drink onto your nice tablecloth or furniture. Total Home Disinfecting Wipes are great for those moments when a quick cleanup is needed. They will save you from dealing with a set in stain later on.

3. Make sure you have plenty of plastic wrap, aluminum foil and plastic storage containers to send leftovers home with your guests. You don’t want to have to squeeze all that extra food to go into your fridge. Plus, Uncle Mike is sure to appreciate the care package. Total Home Food Storage Containers are leak resistant, and can go right from the fridge to the microwave.

4. This time of the year you are going to have more trash than normal, so be sure to have plenty of extra large garbage bags on hand for party cleanup and Christmas morning gift wrap.

The Total Home line, available at CVS, includes a wide range of household products that will help you get through the holiday season. It’s nice to have good quality products available, at a fraction of the cost. The savings are even better when you use your ExtraCare Card. If you like saving, I encourage you to sign up for the CVS ExtraCare loyalty program.

Will you be popping into CVS this holiday season? Don’t forget to grab some delicious Gold Emblem snacks while you’re there!

There have been more than a few times after a party or all day bake a thon I’ve tried to talk my wife into letting me clean the house with a flamethrower. Something like this would be a lot more effective I suspect, I think we will pick some up the next time we are out.

I tend to shy away from hosting parties because the mess often gets out of control and I’m the one left to clean it. No fun. These are great tips and I could use them next holiday here.
