Pizza Burgers make dinner not just a regular meal, but a pizza and burger party.

Kids love certain words, such as “toys,” “games,” “dollhouses,” “burgers,” and “pizza.” So, pizza burgers, well, let’s just say they’re somewhat of a soft sell with kids.

Just propose quietly, “Hey kids, instead of having the same ‘ole burgers or pizza for dinner, how about I whip up some yummy pizza burgers?”

And just watch those eyebrows go all the way up those kids’ foreheads, followed by a resounding, “YAY! WE’RE HAVING PIZZA BURGERS FOR DINNER!” followed by amazing feats of jumping very high in the air—like adults just don’t or can’t do anymore.

Because burgers topped with pizza toppings are not only a fun meal, they’re also a delicious one. I mean, burgers topped with marinara sauce and draped with Italian cheese make for one uniquely tasty experience.

Why moms will add pizza burgers to their meal rotation—NOW!

With only 10 minutes of prep time and 20 minutes of cook time, who doesn’t have time to make these amazing burgers for themselves or for those they hold dear? And they’re such an easy fix.

You’ve probably got just about everything you need to fix these amazing burgers. Parents, I’ve learned, are among the most likely to have Italian food staples of all kinds, from pizza sauce to pepperoni, on hand for whipping up kid-friendly pizza this-and-that.

And everybody’s got a jar of marinara, after all, for those nights when you want a quick spaghetti dinner. Just finish those grilled burgers with a dollop of sauce, and the quality of them instantly improves, thanks to that sweet, salty, tangy, tomato-ey marinara.

Complete the recipe with spicy pepperoni and some melted cheese, and you have one stunner of a burger to serve to you and your family. This meal guarantees smiles all around the table.

How do I store leftovers?

Pizza burgers can be kept in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. If your sandwich is already assembled, sauce and all, simply wrap individual pizza burgers in plastic wrap and then put those in a gallon storage bag. No muss, no fuss. To reheat them, simply cover them with a paper towel and microwave them in bursts until they’re heated through. You can also pop them in the air fryer to refresh them. For freezing, stack individually wrapped sandwiches in a freezer-safe bag. You can freeze these for up to 3 months.

Serving suggestions

Try this recipe with other flavorful Italian sides for a pizza burger extravaganza kind of evening. I love to serve these little parties of a burger with this filling and nutritious One Pot Loaded Veggie Pasta. For another delicious and complementary side, try these Italian-Style Stuffed Zucchini Boats, which use many of the same ingredients as your burgers. It will be a super-easy, convenient side where you can use ingredients interchangeably on all! For dessert, you’re going to need something nice and cool after all that Italian eating. How about this minutes-to-table Yummy Ice Cream Sandwich Cake?

If you love these amazing pizza burgers, try these delicious pizza creations your whole family will love, like this amazing Buffalo Chicken Pizza. It really brings the flavors of your favorite side (wings) to your favorite delivery order (pizza). This Caprese Flatbread Pizza is amazing, too!
