Just four ingredients make up this sweet ice cream with Oreo white cream filling and chocolate cookie bits.

As busy moms, you might often find yourself putting your own needs last to tend to your special little ones’ needs and cravings. So, sometimes, there’s nothing more welcome than carving out a moment in a special place where you can cool your body and spirit with an indulgent velvety ice cream—one that doesn’t need a fancy ice cream machine.

You simply toss these four ingredients into a chilled steel bowl and beat them with ice-cold mixer beaters. Pour the mixture into a loaf pan or a freezer-safe vessel of some kind, and you’re done. It has to rest in the freezer for six hours. So, Oreo ice cream is a great make-ahead recipe to sneak and make while the little ones are asleep.

Oreo ice cream is simple to make, ultra-delicious to eat, and it’s a small reminder that we all deserve a special little treat—especially when it only takes four ingredients and a few minutes to make the most delicious Oreo ice cream in the world.

Why Little Ones Will Go Crazy For Making Oreo Ice Cream With Mom

My first cooking experience with my mother was making a four-ingredient Oreo ice cream just like this one. We found the recipe, which I think was much like this one, on the back of a can of Eagle Brand condensed milk.

Oreo ice cream is perfect for making those magical moments with little ones. I know that Chloe, Zoe, and I had a wonderful time making this ice cream. Kids love rolling the Oreos, but you might want to supervise, lest they get too crumbly.

Oreo ice cream is so simple to make and has just enough chill time that one can make this at breakfast with the girls and then whip up some of these Banana Split Crêpes to sweeten the fact that they’ll have to wait until dinner to enjoy it.

Well, six hours, if you can leave it alone. Believe me, though, even if you have to distract them with temptations like some Viral Smash Burger Tacos with fixings for lunch, and some of this Strawberry and Pretzel Salad. The red Jell-O alone soothes the child’s soul, not to mention the sweetness and the surprise of the pretzels.

Finally, it’s time for dinner and this sublime Oreo ice cream experience. But, moms, if you put this in by 9 a.m., it will be fully chilled by 3:00 p.m.

And I highly recommend a “Mommy and Me” kind of moment when you first taste this heavenly, sweet, decadent treat that tastes like the inside of an Oreo, plus crunchy chocolate cookie bits to the tenth power, in the form of an ice cream.

I mean, wow.

I still remember my first taste experience of Oreo ice cream 48 years later, so yes, this ice cream gives you a rich opportunity for a real food memory moment to share with loved ones. There’s simply no other ice cream you can make in a container that tastes like this. Period.

FAQs & Tips

How Do I Store Leftovers?

This ice cream will keep for about 1 week if frozen in a loaf pan, covered with parchment paper, and then wrapped well with 2 layers of plastic wrap. Parchment paper is the secret to keeping ice crystals out while maintaining flavor and texture.

How Finely Should I Crush My Oreos?

Don’t make the Oreos too crumbly. The biggest mistake people make is getting overzealous with the rolling pin when crushing their Oreos. You want some real bits to scoop up with every spoonful of ice cream.

Great Ideas For Add-Ins For Oreo Ice Cream

All kinds of Oreos taste great in this ice cream. Try Double Stuf Oreos. Then, there’s double the amount of white creamy stuff. Also, those white (vanilla) Oreos taste magical in this ice cream base.

Serving Suggestions

Serve this rich, delicious, fun ice cream with a whole meal that will make the kiddos squeal with glee. First, how about some of these Easy, Kid-Pleasing Sloppy Joes that you simmer in the Crock-Pot all day? So, no standing over the stove for you. Serve those with a side of these Easy Oven Fries. For another great side, try this Cheesy Asparagus, a baked asparagus all blanketed in cheese, which gets kids to literally gobble down their vegetables every single time.

If you love this delicious Oreo ice cream, try this delicious Oreo Milkshake, that’s about the best thing to sip through a straw that I know of.
